Most often, when people experience pain in the back, they mistake it for kidney pain. After all, there is always likelihood that pain in the back is related to kidney pain, especially with the occurrence of signs and symptoms. The most known culprits of kidney pain are kidney infection or pyelonephritis, and kidney stones. But it can also be due to other ailments as well, such as inflammation, injury, enlargement of the kidneys, or blockage in the flow of urine.

Pyelonephritis

Defined as an infection of the kidney and the upper part of the urinary tract, is caused by a reflux of the flow of urine from the bladder to the urinary tract due to a blockage along the urine’s flow path. The obstruction along the urinary tract may be due to stones, congenital deformities, tumors, and loss of bladder function from nerve condition, among many more factors. Urine obstruction is likely to intensify the person’s tendency to develop pyelonephritis. People are advice to be familiar themselves with kidney infection symptoms so this can be detected in early stage and seek treatments.

Pyelonephritis usually attacks adult women, although it is never ruled out that men and other age groups cannot acquire the infection, too. Its initial attack is characteristically abrupt and often mistaken as a result of too much stress on the lower back. The danger with pyelonephritis is that if it is ignored and untreated, it might advance into a chronic ailment that could last for a long period and eventually alter kidney function.

Kidney stones

This is another common culprit of kidney pain. Most often, kidney stones do not send pain signals until they go into the ureters and cause spasm, and compel the sufferer to urinate frequently and make him feel a burning sensation as he does. The tinge of blood that usually comes with the urine is due to the bleeding in the ureter’s narrow lining passage.

Kidney stones come in varied sizes, shapes, and colors. It can be as tiny as a grain of sand, or it can grow as large as a golf ball. The smaller sizes may not cause much pain as they can easily go out with urination. But the larger ones may get stuck on their way down to the urinary tract. Once the stones get embedded between the ureters and the urethra, they obstruct the regular flow of the urine; and this triggers pain. Most often, the pain is felt at the side and back of the body, and may sometimes even extend to the abdomen and groin. Urine usually comes out cloudy and having a tinge of blood.

Generally, kidney stones do not require surgery unless the pain becomes unbearable. The smaller ones can just pass on their own with urine, and some, like the cystine and uric acid types, can be diluted with oral medication. But the larger stones have to be broken down using shock wave procedures; and in severe case – and only when it is necessary – they be removed through surgery.

One of the best and practical ways that healthy people, as well as those having a health history of kidney stones, should do to avoid developing kidney stone is to drink plenty of water everyday so that their kidneys can properly maintain a healthy body fluid balance, and prevent the stones from recurring.

In anatomy, a kidney is either one of a pair of small bean-shaped vital organs located in the dorsal region, or the lower back, of the human body. Positioned one on each side of the spine – although the left kidney is set a little higher than its counterpart at the right – its sizes are about 4 inches or 10 centimeters long, and about 2 and a half inches or 6.4 centimeters wide.

The kidneys perform many functions, such as: keeping the blood clean by freeing it of wastes and water; balancing the chemicals in the body; dispensing hormones and assisting in the control of blood pressure; production of red blood cells, and; generating vitamin D to keep the bones strong and healthy.

Keeping the blood clean. Even as blood circulates through our veins and arteries, it carries with it some undesirable particles that come from what we take in, be it food or drinks and soup. Instinctively, the kidneys remove the wastes, excess fluid, salt, and other minerals carried by the blood, and leaving just enough quantities for the body’s requirements. The kidneys’ numerous tiny filters called glomeruli, are the ones responsible for sifting out wastes and water from the blood. The cleansed blood, then, returns to the heart again and recirculates through the same process; while the wastes and extra water enter the bladder through the ureters and become urine, which we eventually discharged through urination.

Balancing the chemicals in the body. After removing excess fluid from the body, the kidneys now retain what is called the body’s fluid balance. Based on the body’s total weight, the kidneys maintain a normal fluid balance of about 55 percent for women, and about 60 percent for men. If we drink plenty of fluids daily, kidneys remove our excess fluid by making us discharge plenty of urine. Fluid may also be discharged through sweat, breath, and feces. This is how healthy kidneys function.

On the other hand, if we do not take in much fluid, the kidneys will retain the fluid in and we discharge only little urine. In cases where kidneys fail, these organs become unable to control the fluid balance in the body. If we do not discharge much urine, we develop the tendency of overloading fluid in our body, and may therefore submit to dialysis and restrict our fluid intake to correct the imbalance. Too much fluid inside our body may cause high blood pressure.

Dispensing hormones and assisting in the control of blood pressure. Healthy kidneys produce renin, an enzyme that mobilizes the hormonal mechanisms to regulate the body’s fluid and electrolyte balance. It is especially dispensed at the instance when blood pressure starts to fall. Renin then transforms the blood protein into angiotensin, a peptide hormone that causes the blood vessels to narrow. In turn, angiotensin, impels the adrenal gland to dispense aldosterone, another hormone responsible for the re-absorption of sodium, or salt, and water into the blood.

To recapitulate, these hormones work together in controlling the amount of salt and fluid the body keeps and the manner that the blood vessels expand and contract. Excessive amount of water, or fluid overload, in the body causes blood pressure to go up; while insufficient amount of the same, or dehydration, causes blood pressure to drop. Moreover, when arteries constrict its width, blood pressure soars high. This is where renin comes in, as it controls the constriction of the arteries.

Production of red blood cells. Healthy kidneys produce erythropoeitin (EPO), a glycoprotein hormone that activates the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. EPO is dispensed in reaction to the dropping levels of oxygen in body tissue.

Generating Vitamin D. Healthy kidneys produce calcitriol, a hormone that is responsible for sustaining an appropriate level of calcium and phosphate in the blood and bones, keeping the bones strong.

With this given information about the function of our kidneys, may we realize how important it is to care for these organs and also find out more about kidney infection symptoms.

Urinary tract infections (UTI) are serious bacterial problems that invade the urinary system and multiply, resulting in an infection. UTI is painful and can be a life-threatening problem if left untreated. Statistics reveal that about 80 to 90 percent of UTI are caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli), the bacteria that are normally found in the rectum, from where they usually enter and travel through the urethra to the bladder and there cause an infection.

In addition, statistics show that there are more than 9 million people all over the world who suffer from urinary tract infection every year. Women, particularly those who are sexually active, are 30 percent more likely to contract urinary tract infection (UTI) than men and children because of their urethra are much shorter and also closer to anus. And, of the women, the elderly are more susceptible to the infection than the younger ones due to their weakened immune system, which is no longer potent as it was in their younger years. Since the elderly now enters into a stage where the muscles of their bladder have weakened, there is a greater chance that they cannot flush out properly causing some urine to remain there. When the bladder is not fully emptied during urination, small bacteria creeps its way up into the bladder and accumulates over time and this leads to infection.

Besides, elderly men are also likely to develop bladder infection at a rate roughly equal to women, partly because of the enlargement of their prostate. An enlarged prostate obstructs urinary flow and thus causing urine to stagnate. Urinary tract infection among the elderly is usually out of control perhaps due to their age-related conditions. Studies identify some major causes of UTI among the elderly, namely:

Insufficient nutrition. Many elderly persons, especially those who are caring for themselves, do not get appropriate nutrients during meal times, probably because they are unable to properly prepare food for reasons like decreased mobility, inability to care for themselves, and/or limited access to assistance; and so, they tend to settle on the same diet they have been taking over the years, mistakenly thinking their nutritional needs have not changed. Because of this, they usually do not have enough calories, proteins, vitamins and mineral intake. For example, senior frail women should have at least three cups of milks and also a cup half of fruits, and fats that should not ever exceed 130 of calories a day. Because of such insufficiency, these elderly may gradually develop UTI, including cystitis, pyelonephritis and catheter-related infections. Learn more about bladder infection symptoms and also kidney infection symptoms here.

In addition, late detection of UTI among the elderly is related to asymptomatic presence of bacteria. Studies show that between 20 to 25 percent of women and 10 percent of men over the age of 65 have bacteria in their urine without showing any sign.

Another cause of UTI is weak immune system. The elderly are more likely to suffer from UTI because of their weakened immune system. Any disorder affecting the immune system usually raises the risk of urinary tract infection. According to studies, about 30 to 40 percent of the elderly who are having serious UTI do not show signs of fever primarily due to the inability of their immune system to respond.

Moreover, lack of care is another major cause of UTI among the elderly. Often, they do not even know they have UTI and so it goes on untreated. It is advisable, therefore, to have them schedule a regular full body check up to detect any health problem.

Nevertheless, medical experts suggest simple tips on how to prevent or avoid urinary tract infection, including: drinking two to four liters of water every day; taking cranberry tablets with vitamin C; urinating often; pressing the bladder when urinating to ensure that all urine is released.

PARSLEY TEA

Parsley is a biennial herb mostly fund in America, Europe and the Middle East. It is a light to dark green, bright herb and is well recognized for its tremendous health benefits. It is commonly used for garnishing salads, used as a food constituent and as a herbal medicine ingredient.

Parsley tea is prepared through combining the first voided morning urine and a handful of fresh parsley in a quart of water which is further simmered on low heat for almost an hour. After straining the tea, a quart of it can be consumed hot or cold during the day. There is a very long and successful history behind the uses of parsley tea among native Americans and Asians. The benefits can be verified through taking a follow up sample of urine on the 5th day of consuming tea to prove that the white cells that indicate the presence of infection are no longer present in the urine sample.

The main cause of delivering successful results in eliminating infections through use of parsley tea is the ability to penetrate in the bladder wall. Such deep effectiveness ensures that almost no bacteria are present in the bladder and no bacterial strains are faced.

Parsley tea has the ability to heal up all the bacterial infections that are present in urine. Furthermore it is also helpful in the eradication of stones present in human kidney. This is the reason as to why it is sometimes recommended to use parsley tea for a continuous period of 10 days.

Parsley tea also boasts the benefit of being easy and a no-pain therapy because the other methods of removing stones from kidney i.e. lithotripter or surgical procedures requires much more time, cost and sometimes results in minor kidney pain to the patient. Because of its simplicity the institute of Western Health Care is undertaking Parsley tea as its major therapy in removing kidney stones.

Since Parsley tea is a herbal tea, it acquires a natural process of cleaning the bacterial infection present in the bladder. Other herbal teas such as green tea, blueberry tea and the like are also highly recommended as in-house aid to Kidney Infections. That is why herbal teas should be consumed plenty of times within the first 24 hours after noticing the kidney infection symptoms. This is because the more fluid is undertaken by the patient the more urinary outflow will occur which in turn will reduce the bacterial infection present in the kidney.

Other methods used as kidney infection treatment includes the use of Goldenseal, Echinacea and Nettle teas. The usage direction is to drink one cup several times a day for enhanced results. Another herbal tea ‘the green tea’ is also helpful in developing a healthy bladder and is used to reduce bladder inflammation and urine problems.

Method of making Parsley Tea
Place a quarter cup of Parsley tea in a basket that is not affected by heat. Place this infused basket in a teapot and pour hot water over it. Set to simmer for 2-3 minutes if you prefer light taste and 5-8 minutes if you prefer strong. Parsley tea is ready.

Tips for Better Taste
•	Mix a teaspoon of honey for a slightly sugary taste
•	Create a tangy flavor by adding 2-3 drops of lemon juice.

If you noticed you may be displaying some kidney infection symptoms, try for a change and use this alternative kidney infection treatment to treat yourself.

Kidney failure happens when many diseases that attack the kidneys destroy the nephrons in them by which they lose there filtering capabilities. Nephrons are sensitive and can be damaged easily, either through injury or by poisoning. However there are some kidney diseases that act gradually without sending out any warning signals and the serious damages are known in years, sometimes decades. Another characteristic of these diseases is that they attack both the kidneys together.

People with diabetes or high blood pressure are at greater risk of developing kidney diseases. Those who have a family history of both these ailments are likely to develop kidney diseases.

KIDNEY DISEASES THROUGH DIABETES

In diabetes the body fails to absorb glucose, which is another form of sugar, the process of breaking glucose stops and excess amount of glucose in the blood begins to poison the body. This damage incurred by the nephrons from undissolved glucose is known as diabetic kidney disease. By using ACE (Angiotensin-Converting Enzymes) or ARB’s (Angiotensin Receptor Blockers) which are medicines used to cure high blood pressure can decrease or delay the progression of this disease.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

High blood pressure affects the blood vessels present in the kidney by damaging or destroying them due to which failure in the filtration process is experienced.

ACE and ARB’s have proven to be the most effective medication against the effects of high blood pressure to the kidneys. The National Heart, Lungs and Blood Institute (NHLBI) suggest that people suffering from diabetes or reduced kidney function should regulate there blood pressure below 130/80.

GLOMERULAR DISEASES

There are many diseases that accumulate under this disease category, some of them are autoimmune diseases, infection related diseases and sclerotic diseases. These diseases attack the glomeruli in the kidney and early signs include proteinuria, which indicates a high level of protein in the urine and hematuria, which is the excretion of blood along with urine. People may have one or both at a time. Like all other kidney diseases blood pressure should be regulated. Glomerular diseases are often diagnosed through biopsy and treatment includes immunosuppressive drugs or steroids in specific situations and diseases. The basic aim is to decrease inflammation and protenuria.

INHERITED AND CONGENITAL KIDNEY DISEASES

Kidney diseases also develop from hereditary factors, one such disease is the polycystic kidney disease (PKD). This disease is a genetic disorder in the body sometimes as early as still in the womb of the mother. In it several small cysts develop in the kidneys and slowly begin to replace kidney mass, which in result reduces the capability to function properly and ultimately leads to kidney failure.

Autosomal Recessive PKD is referred to a rare form which is attributed to genetic kidney disorder in an unborn child. It basically disrupts the formation of nephrons and symptoms may vary from child to child. Slow growth, continuous vomiting problems and backaches are some of the signs although many kidney diseases act silently and have absolutely no side effect for years.

Diagnosis of kidney problems in kids is possible through regular checkups. High blood pressure, reduced red blood cells, proteinuria or hematuria are first signs of kidney diseases. If any sign is visible further tests should be conducted together with blood, urine and radiology tests. In some cases also a biopsy may be needed. Initially it was thought that these diseases were limited to adults only as symptoms appear around the age of 20 to 30. Today because of diagnostic imaging technology cysts in children can be diagnosed, which is the initial symptom in kids.

OTHER REASONS OF KIDNEY DISEASES

Direct and severe blow to the kidney, trauma and poisoning may lead to kidney diseases. Some medicines if taken continuously for a long period of time especially over the counter medicines tend to harm the kidneys. People who use pain killers regularly should consult there doctors to confirm that no harm is imposed on the kidneys. This also includes kidney infection and people are advised to be aware of kidney infection symptoms which should be treated early.

Kidney Functionality

Kidney is a very vital organ inside our body and it is responsible for cleaning our body of the waste substances that accumulate inside our body.

The shape of a kidney resembles that of a bean and usually the size of the area is equal to your fist or a standard computer mouse. The kidneys are positioned at the back alongside the backbone, at the end of the rib cage and opposite to each other. The kidneys act as a filtering unit of the body and processes almost 200 quarts of our blood to strain about 2 quarts of waste residue and excess water. This extra water combined with waste matter turns into urine which then flows to the bladder through the tubes called ureters. The bladder will be fills with urine until it empties through the urination process.

The breakdown effects in the body are responsible for creating waste that emerges in the blood and is purified by the kidneys. These breakdowns normally occur due to active tissues (muscles) and the food we consume. As the food we eat is the greatest source of energy to our body, through the digesting process the body absorbs all that is needed and required by the body for energy and self healing purposes and the remaining in form of waste is transferred to the blood which is then purified by the kidneys. Such is the importance of kidneys that if they do not cleanse the blood of the harmful waste it would result in serious damages to the body and many chronic diseases can developed if these waste matters accumulate in large quantities in the blood.

Our kidneys contains millions of tiny units each, known as Nephrons. In every nephron a glomerulus, which is a very small blood vessel, interlinks with small urine extraction tube known as a rubule. The basic function of the glomerulus is to strain the blood by storing all proteins and cells in the blood and giving way to all waste and excess fluids to pass through it. In result of a complex chemical reaction, the waste and extra liquid disintegrate from the blood and reach the urinary system.

Initially when the waste matter is transferred to the tubules it is further on processed as it still holds chemicals that the body may use such as Sodium, Phosphorus and Potassium. And because of this extra filtration the kidneys supervises the levels and requirements of our body and maintain it, as it is necessary for a healthy body.

The kidney is also responsible for performing functions other than purifying the blood. They also release three kinds of hormones which are

EPO or erythropoietin hormone which stimulates bone marrow to produce red blood cells.

Renin hormone which is vital in regulating blood pressure.

Calcitriol hormone, this is an active form of vitamin D, and its function is to balance calcium in the body so that bones are healthy and the chemical balance in the body is perfect.

It is crucial to take care of your kidney and bladder at the same time and be aware of any kidney infection symptoms and bladder infection symptoms as treatment at the earliest stage will reduces the damages done on the kidney and recovery process is faster.

To regulate proper kidney functioning doctors recommend a diet that includes foods that limit the kidney inflammation. Also taking foods that reduce the oxidation of fats and cholesterol in the kidneys are advised as this process creates free radicals in form of molecules which harm our kidneys. Foods rich in antioxidants work in reducing these radicals along with reducing the risk of heart diseases as well. Antioxidants are known to deactivate free radicals and aid the proper functioning of the kidneys. Sodium, Phosphorous and Protein rich diets are responsible for healthy functioning kidneys. A healthy renal diet should consist of

CAULIFLOWER

In addition to antioxidants cauliflower is also rich in fiber and folate. Also the potassium present in cauliflowers in minute amounts are known to be beneficial in preventing formation of kidney stones which can lead to infections which can further on worsen and result in chronic kidney problems or diseases.

Taking raw cauliflower is the best option to derive the most benefit out of it. Consuming it raw with a dip of hummus or having it steamed with fresh lemon juice squeezed on top are both tasty and beneficial ways of consuming a cauliflower. You can also have it smashed with fresh parsley and sour cream (low fat).

RED PEPPER

Red peppers are another source of folic acids and fiber and the reduced amount of potassium makes it an ideal ingredient in a healthy renal diet. Red peppers are eaten raw in salads and are also roasted either to wrap a sandwich or diced and used in omelet.

APPLES

Apples are also a very good source of anti inflammatory compounds and are a rich addition to a proper kidney diet. The skin of the apple is full of soluble fiber so make sure you eat it too. Apples can be cubed and eaten with your salads or slice them and try with a touch of peanut butter or simply enjoy apples as a fresh, juicy fruit and eat it up whole.

CRANBERRIES

Cranberries are known to acquire compounds that stop bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder. If your bladder gets exposed to bacteria, they will travel through to the kidneys and can result in infections. Drinking unsweetened cranberry juice daily, preferably in the morning reduces infection risk to zero; you can also add cranberry juice to your favorite fresh fruit drink or add to a smoothie along with fruits that acquire same kidney friendly qualities.

FISH

Fishes contain OMEGA-3 fatty acids and consuming fish that contains this compound in large quantities is very beneficial to kidney health. OMEGA-3 is proven to decrease inflammation and Salmon and Herring are known to contain it in large amounts. You can always bake a salmon and squeeze half a lemon on top or simply flake it on top of your spinach salad.

The food listed above will help aid a healthy kidney function and helps to prevent kidney infections and bladder infections.

Urinary Tract Infection Home Remedies – Cranberry Juice

An effective deterrent to the reoccurring of UTI (urinary tract infection) is non other then the cranberry juice. It is the best urinary tract infection home remedies widely accepted. It is commonly known as a non drug, non side effecting treatment for UTIs. Experts further elaborate that by drinking 8 ounces of cranberry juice two times daily, which is almost 16 glasses, will prove beneficial in getting rid of simple UTIs. Also continuous use of cranberry juice tends to keep the UTIs from recurring. Cranberry juice prevents bacteria from sticking to the linings of the urinary tract and thus prevents urinary tract infection from returning. Cranberry juice is also known to reduce the associated reflux of white blood cells in the urine (pyuria) by almost 50% and bacterial infections are also discouraged, especially in elder women who consume 300 ml of cranberry juice daily.

Tests have been performed to assess whether or not cranberry juice cocktail is effective on the antibiotic resistant pathogenic E.Coli adhesion to the uroepithelium. Researchers united from the University of Michigan and Rutgers University and performed this test on 39 women who were confirmed to suffer from UTIs, they were kept isolated and aged between 18 to 39. While before consuming cranberry juice cocktail, urine samples of all showed failure in preventing adhesion of E.Coli, whereas after continuous use 80% (31) of all isolates and 79% (19) of 24 antibiotic resistant isolates showed prevention of adhesion.

Further studies elaborated that this anti adhesion became apparent in the urine within 2 hours of cranberry juice intake and continued up to 10 hours. Also the pro-anthocyanidins extracted from cranberry juice reserved adhesion of all isolates at ranging concentrations of 6-375 mcg/ml, showing effectiveness in vitro anti adhesion action against antibiotic resistant pressure. It was also found that cranberry juice cocktail protected against both sensitive and resistant strains of P-fimbriated E.Coli, which is the beginning of development of UTIs. Thus cranberry juice was proved to be effective in treating urinary tract infection.

In Urostomy patients who have undergone surgical diversion of urine through the skin due to a diseased or unfunctional bladder, problems of urinary wall skin are common, maybe because of alkaline urine. Cranberry juice acts as an antibacterial property and an anti acidic and proves to be preventive and improvement inducing in patients suffering from skin complications and severe urinary wall disease.

It is however difficult for many individuals to consume 16 glasses of cranberry juice daily, luckily there is an alternative available. Nowadays there are dietary pills available, which can provide the effectiveness of 16 glasses of cranberry juice in one or two capsules. Another benefit of taking pills instead of cranberry juice is the low intake of sugars. Cranberry is high in sugars and consuming its juice in a large quantity will definitely pose other serious health issues.

Benefits of Cranberry juice

According to research conducted by Israel and United States of America, separately and jointly about properties of cranberries conclude that

The colonization of E.Coli starts when sticking of bacteria starts on the walls of urinary tract. They use hair resembling fimbriae or pili that stick out from bacteria and get fixed to certain monosaccharide or oligosaccharide receptors on urothelial cells. These are categorized as type I (mannose sensitive) or type P (mannose resistant).

By sticking to urinary tract cells E.Coli is capable of resisting any normal body cleansing mechanism and can cover its nutritional needs easily does causing toxification and infection.

The cranberry product holds an effective factor that destroys E.Coli, thus making it impossible for them to stay in the urinary tract.

Also it is composed of proanthocyanidins which prevents colonization of E.Coli.

It was also realized through studies in 1994 that cranberries besides discouraging growth of E.Coli also proved effective against infections formed due to white blood cells.

Many people use cranberry as self medication to cure urinary tract infection and many doctors have also prescribed it as an alternate to antibiotic, however this approach is now outdated.

Cranberry juice though is only 27% juice, the remaining is sweetened water, using which in the required quantity may add up too much sugar and calories as it contains fat inducing fructose, which is impossible for people having diabetes to take.

Cranberry supplement is a good alternate as it drops the calories level and provide effective prevention and aid treatment for patients suffering from UTI. Please refer to UTI symptoms for more information.

So a cranberry extract pill or supplement is a good source for people who are at risk of developing UTIs, however these pills are recommended to be taken only once daily. There are always an alternative treatment for an illness if you look hard, for this instance it is the cranberry juice with excellent result and a urinary tract infection home remedies widely used everywhere around the world.

Bacteria causes Bladder and Kidney Infection

Infection in the bladder and kidneys are caused by bacteria, which are elaborated below in this article.

It has been observed that the common bacteria that cause the infection of kidneys and bladder are known as E.Coli or Escherichia Coli which is the medical name of these bacteria. According to studies of different cases it is found that E.Coli is the main cause of kidney infections and urinary tract infections in 60% of all cases reported. Other bacteria that are also known to be the cause are Proteus, Klebsiella, Enterococcus, Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus Sapraphyticus.

Escherichia Coli

Escherichia Coli is a bacterium that results in severe cramps and diarrhea when the body is attacked by it. Sometimes the results can be too serious as the patient may suffer from bloody diarrhea which is very painful along with being harmful to your health. This bacterium usually attacks during summer and more cases are reported of diarrhea caused by E.Coli in summer, and the symptoms are found to be more dangerous in children as compared to adults.

Klebsiella

Out of the many good bacteria that are present in our body and are responsible for the proper functioning and health of the body, Klebsiella is one responsible for the health and accurate functioning of the colon. But this bacterium is meant to stay in the colon, as if it is released from the guts to the other part of the body it will turn into a very harmful bacteria causing severe damage to the body.

Proteus

This is also a bacterium essential for the functioning of digestive systems in the body. It is rod shaped and lives in the intestinal tract and is an important part of a strong body system.

Enterococcus

Enterococcus is a bacterium found usually in the feces of humans and animals, they are found in bunches or chain like formation and cause urinary tract related infections. It is also the cause of other infections, namely bacteraemia, which is a blood stream infection and meningitis.

Pseudomonas

These bacteria dwell in soil and marsh lands. Pseudomonas normally infects people who use indwelling catheters and thus result in urinary tract infections and sepsis. This bacterium is also known to be prone to antibiotics.

Staphylococcus

Staphylococcus is a bunch of bacteria that act together and result in infections in the body. There are about forty species present of the staphylococcus in which many are harmless. This bacterium usually resides in the skin and mucous membranes of humans and other organisms.
